About DLAexpert

DLAexpert helps parents and carers fill in the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) claim form for a child under 16, question by question, in the form's own order.

Why we built it

The DLA form for a child is long, and many of its questions ask the same thing in different ways: how much more help your child needs than other children the same age, by day and at night. Parents often know their child's needs better than anyone, but it is hard to put a whole day and night of care into small boxes, and easy to undersell what you do because it has become normal for your family.

DLAexpert turns what you tell us about your child into answers for the form: what to tick, the numbers to write and the words for the more information boxes, compared with children the same age, on most days and on bad days.

Who runs it

DLAexpert is run by Karol Slusarczyk, trading as Benefits Expert, a sole trader based in Redditch. Karol also runs PIPexpert.co.uk, which helps adults with the Personal Independence Payment form. You can reach a person at support@benefitsexpert.co.uk.

How we work

What we are not

We are not part of the DWP, a law firm or a charity, and our guidance is not legal advice. If you want free, independent advice, Citizens Advice and local welfare rights services can help.
