Accessibility statement
We want everyone who looks after a disabled child to be able to use DLAexpert, including people who use assistive technology.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. The site is built to:
- work with a keyboard alone, with a "skip to content" link and visible focus
- work with screen readers, with labelled form fields and headings in order
- let you zoom to 200% without losing content, and work on a phone
- use text and background colours with strong contrast
- use plain English, short sentences and clear headings
Known limits
- The PDF files of the report and the free printable tools are designed for printing and reading, and may not be fully tagged for screen readers. The same content is shown on the web page and in the email.
- Some long forms take time to fill in. Your answers are saved in your own browser as you go, so you can take a break.
If something does not work for you
If you find a barrier, or need the report in another format (for example large print or plain text), email support@benefitsexpert.co.uk and tell us what you need. We will do our best to help.
If you are not happy with how we respond, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
